Welcome to Year 6

Welcome to Year 6!
It's our final term in Year 6 and we're going to make it the best ever!

Our final topic is Liverpool Docks.  If you have anything at home you'd like to bring in to add to our display of artefacts please do so.

We have also got some very exciting events to look forward to, not forgetting our "Hoodwinked" production!  Remember to keep learning the songs and your words.  It will be fantastic!

P.E.

P.E. sessions take place each Tuesday and Wednesday. Please ensure a full P.E. kit is brought to school and that items are clearly labelled.

General Information

Children are asked to bring their reading book and diary to school on a daily basis as this will enable me to provide a comment to inform parents when children have taken part in Guided Reading sessions.  Reading diaries are also to be used by the children to record what they have read and for parents/carers to provide feedback, or make comments, on the reading they have done with their child.

                                                       Homework

We will send spellings, English and Maths homework out every Friday to be returned to school the following Wednesday. Please encourage your children to complete their homework every week as well as reading each night. These are excellent habits to prepare children for high school and a key part in consolidating their learning.

If your child is finding homework a challenge please come into school so we can discuss it together.

Year 6 work as Victorian Servants at Croxteth Hall

We had a fantastic time at Croxteth Hall where we all dressed up as Victorians.  Some of us were privileged enough to be invited by Lord Sefton as guests, others weren't so lucky!  We were gardeners, wood cutters, stable boys, house maids, kitchen maids and under footmen.

Here are some of the photographs from our trip.

Stanley High School

Stanley High Activity Day

The children enjoyed a wonderful "hands on" day at Stanley High School doing activities in the science lab, ADT room, IT suite and on the playing field doing athletics.
