Year 2A

Welcome to Year Two!

This is a special year because children in Year Two have the opportunity to set a fantastic example for the younger children in our school. If you or your child have any concerns about school please don't hesitate to come in and see us or arrange an appointment.

We have all settled back into school life brilliantly after our Christmas break and are working hard on our new topics.

The Great Fire of London

Our new topic is all about The Great Fire of London. If you have any books, pictures, objects or experiences related to this exciting topic we would love to see them and will take great care of anything brought into school.

Reading Books

Please try and read with your child as often as possible. Books will be changed once a week if a child's Reading Record has been signed.

We have PE on Mondays and Thursdays. Please make sure that your child has their kit in school on these days. We are very excited because Miss Paris will be teaching Yoga on a Monday afternoon in Year 2.

Homework

We will be sending spellings home on Mondays for the children to learn each week. Please help them to write sentences using given words. This is a great way to help your child develop more confidence for independent writing. It is also a good way to prepare them for the homework they will receive in KS2.

Snack

Our Healthy Snack scheme is up and running again this term. If your child is taking part in the scheme please make sure that you send in their money every Monday or at the beginning of each half term.
