Year 4S

Welcome to Year 4S!

Summer Topic

We have just finished our Water topic which was fantastic!!  We learnt lots about water including water issues around the world, conservation of water, famous rivers and the importance of clean water.  We wrote amazing water poems using similes, alliteration and metaphors and even wrote our own messages in a bottle, advising people on why and how we should save water.

We had a lovely time visiting the Botanic Gardens as part of our Water study where we were learning about the artist Monet.  Why not take a look at some of our photographs from the trip??  We also had a dance lesson based on Swan Lake which was super!!

NEW TOPIC!

Our final topic is Ancient Greece which links in great with the Olympics!!  We are going to be able to locate Greece on a map and use photographs to make observations.  We're going to explore people living in Athens and Sparta, research Greek gods and read their exciting myths!

Our Literacy topic is stories from imaginary worlds which is also really exciting.  We are going to read lots of books which are set in many different places such as: The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe, Peter Pan, Alice in Wonderland and many more!
