WELCOME TO MRS FARLEY'S

YEAR 3 CLASS
smileysmileysmileysmileysmiley

I hope you have all had a wonderful Christmas and New Year.  Thank you for all the lovely cards and gifts, they were very much appreciated!

We have lots to look forward to in the Spring Term.  We will visit Bridgewater Hall to see the Halle Orchestra perform on the 28th of February.

We will be performing our class assembly as well as begin our swimming lessons, so this will be a very busy term indeed!

General Information no

In Year 3 children are asked to bring their reading book and diary to school on a daily basis as this will enable me to provide a comment to inform parents when children have taken part in Guided Reading sessions.

Reading diaries are also to be used by the children to record their independent reading and for parents/carers to provide feedback or make comments on the reading they have done with their child.

Snack

Children are invited to bring their own snacks to be eaten during morning or afternoon break times.  Snacks should be a healthy food choice such as fruit or a cereal bar.  Chocolate bars and crisps are not considered to be healthy snacks.

Homeworkno

English and Maths homework will be set each Friday and should be completed and returned the following Friday.  Any homework set will reinforce learning related to basic maths skills and spelling patterns. The children will also have a spelling test and maths skills test every Friday.  In addition to this, the children will receive various additional homework activities throughout the year related to the creative topics.

P.E.no

P.E. sessions will take place each Monday and Wednesday, although this may be subject to changes throughout the school year.  Please ensure a full P.E. kit is brought to school and that items are clearly labelled.  We will begin swimming lessons on Wednesday 15th March for 8 weeks.  All children will need a swimming costume and swimming cap.

During our class trip to Martin Mere, we worked hard as Iron Age villagers foraging, thatching, weaving and defending our village.

We are enjoying Collective Worship in Year 3F.

We can dance! Check out our moves at the inter-schools dance festival.
