It brings me pleasure to tell you about Harry, who decided to help out his local football club by doing a sponsored cycle. He completely smashed his target of £200 and actually raised over £2,500! All of 5J are incredibly proud of this enormous effort and gave him a big cheer and round of applause when he told us all about it in class. Despite being incredibly windy and rainy, Harry managed to cycle 50 laps around the Southport Football Stadium with his younger cousin. He said he thoroughly enjoyed it even though the weather was terrible!
GO HARRY!
Inspired by our Autumn text in English, 'This Morning I Met A Whale' by Michael Morpurgo, a few of our class set up 'The Dream Team'. They spend their own time, during play times at school and communicating while at home, thinking of ways in which they can act to help the world. So far, they have come up with ways to help the environment and plan to keep going with their ideas as they get older. They would like to help with the following:
-plastic pollution
-coronavirus
-world peace
-global warming
-climate change
Here is a key message from Emily, who founded the idea:
The Dream Team is not just a club, it’s a unified happy community here to help make the world a better place . This Dream Team is about letting people be heard to share ideas to listen. That’s why we help each other out and work together as one group of amazing people.
