This term, we will be studying Kenya (A Geography focused unit). This centre of learning introduces a distant locality through aspects of life that will be familiar to the children such as housing, cooking and going to school. We will explore Kenyan landscapes, the climate, country and town life and of course African wildlife.
The children will have opportunities to study Tinga Tinga Art. Tinga Tinga was born in Tanzania in 1968 and his art work is vibrant and features African animals. You can browse through some of his art pieces below in a powerpoint presentation.
We will enhance our study of Kenya through DT by designing and making African masks for a chosen ceremony. The creative overview below shows you how Art, D.T. Geography, ICT and Music link when teaching the theme.
