Mrs Taylor's Class
Welcome back, 4T!
I hope you have all had a wonderful break and you are relaxed and refreshed, ready to come back to school. We have plenty of fun things planned for our final term, so I hope you are just as excited as I am!
As you may know, the land of the pharaohs is famous for its huge pyramids, its bandaged mummies and its golden treasures. We will be spending the next few weeks continuing our intriguing topic about the wonders of Ancient Egypt.
Let's make these next few weeks the best!
I will be uploading homework each week on the VLE. The children will receive one piece of Maths homework and weekly spellings. Both pieces of work will be uploaded by 4.30pm every Monday and the children will have one week to complete them.
Please contact me if you have any further questions.
The children will be tested on their spellings the following Monday. The spelling test will be in a mixed order.
It is so lovely hear all of the super readers in 4T. We have our own class library that the children have already been diving into. From Monday 21st September, the children are welcome to bring in a book from home to read in school. Their books will only return home when they have finished reading them. Reading Records will also be kept in the classroom.
We are working really hard on our fluency, intonation and inference skills. Please encourage your child to read further books at home. It has been lovely hearing the children talk about their favourite authors and texts. Sharing the books that they have read is inspiring others to explore different books and authors.
Making sure that the children can quickly recall all the times tables facts will really help with their learning in Year 4. These websites help the children do this, at their own pace and in a fun way.

The children will be tested on the times tables every Monday in the Computer Suite and every Friday in their times tables books.
We will have P.E. on a Friday this half term. Please ensure your child comes to school wearing their P.E. kit on Friday each week. Children should wear their P.E. kit with black pumps or trainers and their school jumper/cardigan over the top. No hoodies please.
The children are welcome to bring a snack to school for morning and afternoon break. Please ensure that these snacks are healthy!
