Each Monday I choose a book that we have not read together as a class to sit and listen to. We pop on the crackling log fire on the IWB and get comfortable before all sitting together to enjoy our story of the week. We talk about the title, the authors and the blurb before listening to story together. The children predict what may happen next in the story or ask questions about what certain words mean. At the end the children give me a thumbs up if they enjoyed the story and together we talk about what we particularly liked about the story. Sometimes it is because it had sparkly pictures in it!
