For the past 5 weeks, the children in Years 1,2 and 3 have been participating in tennis sessions as part of the P.E curriculum. The children were very fortunate as their lessons were taught by a professional tennis coach from North Meols Lawn Tennis Club.
The children learnt the importance or warming up by playing the ‘birdy’ warm up where they pretended to be BIG eagles and small sparrows. After that, they were given a demonstration from Rob on how to thrown a catch and the importance of making the ball bounce over the net. The children practiced their skills and then they moved on to using rackets and having mini games.
The children really enjoyed the lessons and it was very pleasing to see how the children have improved throughout each session.
