Attendance

At St Patrick’s we have high expectations for attendance and punctuality for all our children. Being in school every day is the best way for children to thrive socially, emotionally and academically. Missing school means missing out on learning and friendships, both of which can be very challenging for children on their return to school.

Please see below for our Attendance Policy and updated government guidance which came into effect in August 2024. This documentation outlines responsibilities and processes that we follow regarding school attendance. In line with this guidance, we are unable to authorise term time holidays and can only authorise absences in the most exceptional circumstances.

Poor attendance is a safeguarding concern and we are keen to support any families who need help improving their child's attendance. If you feel that you would benefit from some support, please speak to your child's class teacher or contact the school office on admin@stpatricks.sefton.org.uk
