At St Patrick's Catholic Primary School we strive to provide a safe and enjoyable swimming experience for all children in KS2. Priority is given to increasing water confidence and ensuring that all children are given every opportunity to learn to swim.
From September 2024, swimming will take place for all children at Dunes swimming pool. It is timetabled throughout the academic year for children in Key Stage 2. All children will be required to attend swimming lessons as part of the KS2 National Curriculum from Year 3 to Year 6 whilst at school.
Swimming lessons take place each week on Thursday mornings and last 30 minutes. Each swimming block this academic year is dependant on which year group your child is in. Most year groups will attend 9 weeks of swimming. It is important that if your child is unable to swim on a particular week that a letter is brought in stating the reason why your child is unable to participate.
