  • Young Musicians!

    Fri 20 Oct 2023

The hall was filled with music this morning as we had some special Charanga sharing assemblies. In school, children follow the Charanga Model Music Curriculum which incorporates all elements of musical tuition within each unit of work. Children performed a range of songs with instrumental accompaniments and did a fantastic job. It was a wonderful way to end the half term. Well done children!

    Thu 12 Oct 2023

Children in Year 4 had a busy time outside this afternoon as they worked together with Clive to dig up onions and leeks from the Veggie Patch. These will be taken to the Soup Kitchen by Mrs Williams at the weekend.

Clive spoke to the children about an exciting project that they will be working on after half term. They are keen to get started and are enjoying different ways in which they can work together and help others too. Well done children!

  • Harry Potter Book Day

    Thu 12 Oct 2023

There was a sense of great excitement in school today as children celebrated Harry Potter Book Day. We have many Harry Potter fans in school and, as part of our English lessons, children enjoyed a range of activities. Classrooms were a hive of creativity and it was wonderful to see children so enthused. Thank you to Mrs Shirley for organising this event.

  • Hello Yellow! World Mental Health Day

    Wed 11 Oct 2023

We celebrated World Mental Health Day in school yesterday with children wearing yellow accessories with their school uniform. All classes explored different ways to stay mentally healthy and children enjoyed a range of activities.

Each class has selected a Wellbeing Ambassador who has an important role to play in school as a buddy to others. Other children will also have this opportunity throughout the year as we work together to raise awareness of young people's mental health and support each other in our school community.

  • Southport War Memorial Re-Dedication

    Fri 29 Sep 2023

A number of our Year 6 children represented our school today in an event to celebrate the Re-Dedication of the War Memorial on Lord Street, which is 100 years old this year. They took part in the event alongside members of the armed forces and many veterans. The children were absolutely delighted to meet HRH Princess Anne, who spoke with them after the ceremony. The children were also interviewed by reporters from the BBC. An exciting and very memorable time was had by all.

  • School and Eco-Council Elections

    Tue 26 Sep 2023

Children in Key Stage 2 have been learning about Democracy this week as they have been preparing for the election of the School and Eco-Council. Children were invited to prepare manifestos, which they presented to their class and/ or other classes in the Key Stage.

We are enormously proud of all the children who put themselves forward for this opportunity. This shows great courage. The work that children put into their manifestos was tremendous and children presented their ideas with confidence. Congratulations!

The winners of the elections will be announced later in the week.

  • Mission Day

    Tue 26 Sep 2023

We all enjoyed having a special Mission Day in school on Thursday 14th September. Children explored the Mission Statement and celebrated some different ways in which we can follow in the footsteps of Jesus. Children sang our Come & See song - please see the Class Pages for a short video of the singers in action.

As part of the day, children looked at values that they feel are important within our school community and in the wider world. The values they chose are:

Helping Others, Friendship, Courage, Respect, Trust and Loyalty.

    Well done children!

  • Well done Ciara, Sylvie & Charlotte!

    Fri 08 Sep 2023

Over the summer holidays Ciara, Sylvie and Charlotte decided to raise some money for Queenscourt Hospice. They spent several weeks making bracelets which they sold on 10th August, outside Ciara's house. The girls raised a tremendous £135 for this very worthy cause.

We are very proud of you girls - what a wonderful example to us all!
