PSHE and Mental Health

The Police came to school

What an exciting day! Today the police turned up half way through our playtime and drove 3 vehicles onto our playground!

We had a fantastic day finding out about uses of the different vehicles and we even got to try out the siren! We found out about the role of the different police units and had a go at being put of a police riot team!

Anti-Bullying Week

This week we have been celebrating Anti-Bullying week and thinking about what it means to be a good friend. We have discussed what we feel are the key elements to a good friendship and I have included some of our ideas below.

  • Kindness
  • Love
  • We think of others
  • Happy for one another
  • Truthfulness
  • Sharing
  • Celebrate each others successes

On Friday we finished the week with a whole school odd socks day to highlight;

 'Like odd socks, we are all different'

Hello Yellow - Mental Health Awareness

We understand that looking after our mental health is very important - now more than ever and we have been looking at different ideas to support this within our weekly PHSE lessons.

For our Hello Yellow day we thought specifically about change and how not all changes are nice. We talked about how there are changes that we can be prepared for and that some changes happen suddenly and are completely out of our control. We also talked about how it is ok to be upset when a 'bad' change happens.

We then made some bunting to put up on our classroom windows with positive messages and advice to support one another when we aren't feeling our best.
