Relationships, Sex and Health Education
(R.S.H.E)
The Governors at St Patrick’s Catholic Primary School have adopted the developmental programme, ‘A Journey in Love’ to support the teaching of Relationships, Health and Sex Education (R.H.S.E.). The programme of study is authentic to the teaching of the Catholic Church and meets the needs of all pupils.
The programme has at its foundation the belief that we are made in the image and likeness of God. This is reflected in each stage of a person’s growth in the Primary Years through a series of suggested, progressive and developmental tasks, activities and reflections which focus on social, emotional, physical and spiritual development.

Year 3 – How we live in love
Year 4 – God loves us in our differences
Year 5 – God loves me in my changing and developing
Year 6 – The wonder of God’s love in creating new life
