Year 6H

Welcome to Year 6P

A very warm welcome to Year 6. I am very proud of the way the children have settled in and the good attitude they are showing.

In the autumn term we will learn about all the developments and changes that took place during the reign of Queen Victoria and the influence of the Victorians on modern life. We  hope to visit Croxteth Hall where the children will take on the role of Victorian servants.

Our spring topic is EUROPE. Bonjour! Hola! Ciao! Hallo! Czesc! Hei!
We will learn about the location of European countries and their rivers and mountains. We will learn some capital cities and recognise European flags. We may even sample some food from countries in Europe!!

Our summer topic is BRITAIN SINCE 1948. Please remember to bring in as many artefacts as you can from this period. Ask your Nans and Grandads if they have anything too!! We'll have fun learning about the music and fashion!
We'll also spend time preparing for our summer production of JOSEPH.

Homework is sent home on a Monday for the following Monday. It will consist of Numeracy work to reinforce the work done in class the previous week, sentence work and spellings to learn. Children should enjoy reading every night too.
