During the Spring Term we will begin our new Phase 5 phonics unit and will introduce a new set of alternative graphemes in addition to those taught during phases 3 and 4. The children will begin to focus on spelling and learning rules for when to apply each grapheme which will be supported through our weekly spellings.
During the Autumn Term we have been recapping our Phase 3 sounds and tricky words and how we can apply these in both our reading and writing. We have focused on basic sentence structure and ensuring each sentence begins with a capital letter and ends with a full stop.
