Early Years

Faithfully following in the footsteps of Jesus,

we serve, love and learn together

inspiring each other to excellence.

A warm welcome to all our families, parents, carers and children. It's lovely to see the next generation of our families at the beginning of their journey and a pleasure to see them grow. We are a very nurturing, family-orientated Catholic primary school, and we serve a wonderful community of families. We form extremely strong partnerships with parents to ensure each child and family flourishes.

In the Early Years at St. Patrick's Catholic Primary School, we place great value on the development of children as unique individuals, providing them with the skills, knowledge and understanding they need to prepare them for the challenges in Key Stage One and beyond. We ensure all children have the opportunity to develop and learn in a safe and nurturing environment where play and learning are combined. Through practical learning experiences, we strive to equip children with a love of learning and a natural curiosity. We aim to ensure that all our children develop into independent and lifelong learners. Our curriculum is designed to raise aspirations and help children to be literate and articulate: developing children's vocabulary is paramount, extending vocabulary and giving children the opportunity to talk for different audiences and for different purposes is an integral part of our curriculum. Reading is also a huge priority for us as we know that learning to read fluently and developing a love of reading opens up the curriculum and the world around us.
