The children throughout school have enjoyed a wonderful selection of musical activities throughout the year and there are plenty more to come.
Young Songwriters
Children in Year Six have been learning about Europe. As part of this topic they listened to a range of music from European composers. Inspired by different works, they have written and performed musical accompaniments to Pachelbel's Canon in D and also written their own songs.
It was after exploring an opera called Gianni Schicchi, written by Giacomo Puccini, that children wrote and performed their own modern day versions of one of the arias. It was a fantastic opportunity to let creative juices flow and we enjoyed a selection of raps, beat boxing as well as singing. What a wealth of talent!
